I finally saw a movie with Jack Black in it that didn't horrify me. It's an older movie called Holiday with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. They swap home for the winter holidays - Britain for L.A. Jack Black doesn't appeal to me on any level so I was a bit horrified to see him listed as one of the actors - but he surprised me. He played a sensitive person and not the over the top idiots he is better known for. I don't really like Diaz either because she can't act. She's pretty and she can dance - that's about all she can do. But I love Kate Winslet and there was nothing else on so I watched the movie.
If you're looking for a fluff movie to watch to pass the time away, watch this movie. I'm sure the library must have it.

Bluewave delivered my copy of the book the other day when it arrived in the mail. I've been reading it and I'm loving it. The author is a hoot. I love his caustic wit. He's the shit! Everyone needs to read this book. It's very informative yet not boring or dreary. :)
Well, I'm still on the purging rampage this week. I've been taking old CDs and VHS movies and books to some second hand shops and liquidating them. I think I've gotten myself addicted. lol Yesterday I was out and about with one canvas shopping bag and I got rid of all but 2 books. Apparently you can't give away Princess Diana stuff these days. lol And I managed to make $35. I was impressed.
So I made a trip to LM and put a shawl that I"ve been coveting on layaway. BUT, this is not adding to my stuff. I'm just trading in. :) That's my justification. And when I get rid of more stuff, I'll be able to put more on the layaway. That makes me happy. lol Also, it's been keeping me in gas money too. Woohoo.
Today I spent the day going around to second hand stores in the Dark Side with my sister and her man. It was a laugh. I managed to liquidate all but 1 of the CDs left in the CD bag. Apparently you can't give away Alanis Morrisette either. lol So I left with a handful of change, made $12 and came home with $6 after a trip to DQ. not bad for a Sunday afternoon with the family in town.
I'm still looking at parting with more things but I'm going at it a bit at a time. I'm trying to get rid of my clutter. I'm going to ahve to see if there is a place locally where I can discuss selling off my older barbie dolls. Yes, you read that correctly. I have a number of them in Cape Breton but I have nowhere to store them or put them on display. So I think it's time to try to liquidate some of the older ones. We'll see.
